Instagram Road Rage Posts In California Second Only To One

A study of Instagram road rage posts show California drivers are second to only one other state in reporting incidents of road rage.

There's a line in an old Clint Eastwood movie where, exasperated after several minutes of verbal torture, Eastwood turns to a woman he's with and sneers "Why are you so angry?"

A three-year study of more than 65,535 #roadrage Instagram posts released this week shows Golden State drivers are second to only one other state in reporting incidents of California rage on our roads.

Hawaii leads the nation in reported incidents, where nearly six drivers out of 100 decided to take the time to post road rage incidents on Instagram, according to the study reported by the Auto Insurance Center. In California, the number was about three-and-a-half drivers per 100.

Road rage posts, understandably, are highest in July and August, when the weather gets hot.

Peak day? Fridays. The number of Instagram #roadrage messages climbs throughout the week.

And while Hawaii may be the state where the most geotagged messages were received, California by far leads the country in top 24 cities noted.

Los Angeles drivers can say yet another time "We're #1."
