Juveniles Arrested on Watsonville School Campus

Police find two subjects trying to open a classroom window at Mintie White Elementary School over the weekend.

Police in Watsonville arrested two juveniles on an elementary school campus Sunday evening.

Officers responded to a report of two suspicious people dressed in black at Mintie White Elementary School, located at 515 Palm Ave., who were near the portable classrooms at about 5:40 p.m., police said.

Because of a number of burglaries at schools around the city several officers surrounded the campus, according to police.

One officer found the two suspects - both teenage boys - attempting to pry open a window to gain access into one of the classrooms.

The boys, one 15 and the other 16, fled, but every direction they went an officer was waiting, police said. They were eventually apprehended.

Police arrested the boys on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools and violation of probation.
