Man Suspected Of Trying To Smuggle Drugs Into Monterey County Jail

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Monterey County sheriff's deputies arrested a man Friday who allegedly tried to smuggle narcotics into the county jail. According to sheriff's officials, Enrique Burton was arrested
while attempting to smuggle a large amount of Hydrocodone and Alprazolam into the jail.
Burton allegedly admitted planning the smuggling and preparing the narcotics the night before, sheriff's officials said. Burton was arrested on suspicion of bringing contraband into jail and possessing a controlled substance.
