Man Who Sexually Assaulted Woman In Her Car Convicted

Salinas resident Jimmy Alexander was also convicted of robbery and kidnapping.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — A jury has convicted a man of multiple counts of sexual assault, including rape, sodomy and oral copulation all by force, the Monterey County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday. Prosecutors said that Salinas resident Jimmy Alexander was also convicted of kidnapping and robbery.

On April 15 and 16, a female victim was in the Chinatown area of Salinas when Alexander got into her car and ordered her to drive away. Over the next eight hours they drove to several locations and Alexander sexually
assaulted the victim, prosecutors said. The victim eventually convinced Alexander to get out of her car,
prosecutors said.

According to prosecutors, a sentencing date has not yet been set because the judge is considering evidence to determine if Alexander has a prior conviction under California's three strikes law.
