Motorcycle Crashes Head-On Into Semi
The deadly crash happened Monday near Watsonville.

WATSONVILLE, CA —A woman died when her motorcycle collided with a big-rig east of Watsonville in Santa Cruz County on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 3:35 p.m. in the area of Carlton and Thompson roads.
The woman, a 30-year-old San Jose resident, was riding a 2023 Honda motorcycle south on Carlton Road approaching a curve when she lost control, slid across double yellow lines and collided with a Freightliner big-rig, CHP officials said.

The woman, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene of the crash. The driver and a passenger in a big-rig were both uninjured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
