Officer On Motorcycle Hurt In Crash In Monterey
The officer who was in a collision with a car was riding a police motorcycle on duty.

MONTEREY, CA — An officer who was in a collision with a car while riding a police motorcycle on duty in Monterey Sunday morning has suffered minor injuries, police said.
The officer, who was assigned to the Monterey Bay Half Marathon, was traveling westbound in the far-left lane, also known as the Number One lane, on Fremont Street near Camino El Estero around 7:37 a.m., according to the Monterey Police Department.
A vehicle that was stopped in the Number Two lane made what police described as a quick, unsafe lane change into the Number One lane, police said. The vehicle allegedly struck the officer and his motorcycle, according to police.

The officer was taken to the hospital and was later discharged with minor injuries, police said.
Police said other contributing factors to the collision were the driver's front tinted windows and tinted windshield.
