Officials ID Man Who Died After Car Went Off Monterey Co. Bridge
The fatal incident was reported at Garin and Elkhorn roads south of Watsonville.
WATSONVILLE, CA — A 29-year-old man who died after his vehicle went off a bridge into water in unincorporated Monterey County last month has been identified, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office. David Rene Gonzales' car was found on Jan. 20 floating upside down in the water by a person who made the call to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal incident was reported at 12:56 p.m. at Garin and Elkhorn roads south of Watsonville.
The cause of Gonzales' vehicle going off of the bridge is still under investigation, and no further information about the case was immediately available.
