Police Investigate Watsonville Armed Robbery At Gas Station

Police in Watsonville are investigating an armed robbery that occurred about 9:30 p.m. Monday night at a Shell gas station.

WATSONVILLE - Police in Watsonville are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday night at a local gas station.

At 9:26 p.m., officers responded to the Shell gas station located at 1830 Freedom Blvd. on reports of two suspects robbing a clerk at gunpoint, according to police.

Once on scene, officers learned the two suspects entered the store with their shirts pulled over their faces to hide their identities, and police said one held a short-barrel shotgun while the other demanded money from the register.

According to police, the clerk handed over an unknown amount of cash to the robbers before they fled on foot heading east.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males, each about 18 years old, standing about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a gray beanie, a white long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.

The second suspect was last seen wearing a dark color beanie, a dark long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.

Police said despite numerous Watsonville police officers searching the surrounding area, the suspects were not found.
