Robbery Suspect Tasered At Hospital Following Watsonville Arrest
After being stunned, Michael Cervantes was booked into the county jail with bail set at $250,000.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A robbery suspect attempted to run away from Watsonville police during a medical assessment at a hospital on Monday evening, police said Thursday. A community member recognized 30-year-old Michael Cervantes in the area of Green Valley and Minto roads near Pinto Lake City Park and contacted police, who responded to the scene and arrested him after he surrendered. He was then taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being booked into the county jail.
While his handcuffs were removed for a doctor's examination, he attempted to run toward an exit, but an officer shot him with a Taser and detained him, according to police. Cervantes was given a second medical exam after the being shot. He was then booked into the county jail with bail set at $250,000.
