Santa Cruz Man Suspected Of Possessing Meth Arrested In Motel

Sheriff's detectives searched a motel room in Watsonville where they allegedly found 368.5 grams of methamphetamine.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies arrested a man Monday morning on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. At 11 a.m., sheriff's detectives searched a motel room in Watsonville where 55-year-old Michael Rodgers of Santa Cruz was staying.

Inside the room, detectives found 368.5 grams of methamphetamine that was packaged for sale. They also found $1,600 in cash in various denominations, multiple digital scales, drug packaging materials and several
cellphones used to arrange drug sales, sheriff's officials said.

Rodgers was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and for violating terms of conditional release, sheriff's officials said.
