Sheriff's Deputy Helps A Vet Who Needed A Hand
When a Santa Cruz County Deputy came across a man who seemed lost while sitting on a bench near Watsonville, a helping hand was offered.

WATSONVILLE - When a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputy came across a man who seemed lost while sitting on a bench near Watsonville, a helping hand was offered.
The Sheriff's Department posted on their website an insight into the kind of work officers often perform that goes unnoticed.
On Tuesday, a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputy found a "Mr. Sandoval" sitting on the bench outside of Watsonville. In conversation, deputies found out he was a Vietnam veteran who had somehow lost his way.

According to the post, deputies were able to reunite the man with his brother, who drove him home.
Sheriff's officers wanted to use the occasion to remind citizens that veterans are never forgotten, and say they were proud to have helped the man in his time of need.

"Thank you for your service Mr. Sandoval," stated the post.
