Trailer Carrying Ammunition Catches Fire

Cal Fire estimates the loss of the trailer and its contents to be about $30,000.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Firefighters battled a fire that broke out in a trailer that contained ammunition Tuesday night in Monterey County, according to Cal Fire. At 9:07 p.m., fire crews responded to a fire in a trailer on Interlake Road near Lockwood.

According to Cal Fire, the trailer was not occupied, but was used for storage and contained ammunition.
At the scene, firefighters found the trailer fire and made an aggressive attack that saved a nearby residence. The blaze was contained at 9:41 p.m., fire officials said.

Cal Fire estimates the loss of the trailer and its contents to be about $30,000. No one was injured during the fire and the cause of the blaze is under investigation, fire officials said.
