Watsonville Bicyclist Critically Injured In Tuesday Morning Crash
The Watsonville police traffic division is looking for witnesses to the collision.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A vehicle struck and critically injured a bicyclist in Watsonville early Tuesday morning, according to police. The collision was reported at 5:05 a.m. on Lee Road north of West Beach Street. Officers determined a 30-year-old driving a vehicle struck the 45-year-old bicyclist from behind while it was still dark before sunrise, police said.
The bicyclist was taken by helicopter to a hospital and was listed in critical condition as of late Tuesday morning, according to police. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in the collision, which remains under investigation.
