WATSONVILLE, CA — A longtime veteran of city government in Watsonville is being recommended for appointment as interim city manager there.

The Watsonville City Council is recommending Tamara Vides to serve as interim city manager. The council will consider the appointment at Tuesday's meeting.

Vides has worked for the city for more than 20 years and has served in several high-ranking capacities, including as Watsonville's current assistant city manager, a position she has held since October 2020. Prior to her promotion to that position, she served as deputy city manager beginning in 2018. Vides has held several positions within the city manager's office during the last 12 years.

"I have spent the last 23 years of my life serving the Watsonville community with great pride, and I will continue my commitment to this community," Vides said. "I appreciate the council's consideration and hope to serve during this transition."
