Watsonville Evacuation Zones Updated: Check Yours Now, County Says
As wildfires and natural disasters become increasingly common, officials urge Santa Cruz residents to "know your zone."

WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville residents are urged to check their designated evacuation zone after updates were made to the county Zonehaven map.
Zonehaven is an emergency notification system that assists first responders and emergency agencies with coordinating evacuations in case of emergencies, such as wildfires or other natural disasters. ZoneHaven provides residents with emergency updates and resources, such as real-time shelter information, weather and traffic information.
Cal Fire and county emergency officials asked residents to "know your zone" after the zones were optimized "to be used during multiple types of events and build on lessons learned during the 2020 CZU Lightning Fires and subsequent debris flow planning and evacuations processes."
