Watsonville Man Arrested For Exhibiting Firearm: Cops

Police said Pedro Magana, 30, brandished a handgun at a victim during an argument.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville police arrested a local man on Thursday morning after obtaining a warrant in connection with an incident on New Year's Day that allegedly involved the possession and exhibition of a firearm. Pedro Magana, 30, was arrested at his home without incident after police learned that he allegedly brandished a handgun at a victim during an argument around 4 a.m. Jan. 1 and drove away from the scene in the 100 block of Riverside Drive.

Magana is currently facing a separate case for possession of a firearm.Watsonville police, with the assistance of the Santa Cruz County Auto Theft Reduction Enforcement Team and the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime
Team, detained Magana and searched his residence. The search turned up over 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sales, a loaded firearm, gang indicia and a stolen motorcycle, according to police.

Magana was booked into the Santa Cruz County jail on suspicion of exhibiting a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance while armed, committing a crime while
out on bail and possession of a stolen vehicle.
