Watsonville Man Sentenced To More Than 12 Years In Prison For Pursuit
Jamie Ayala, 30, led Monterey County Sheriff's Office deputies on a high-speed pursuit through Marina and Seaside, prosecutors said.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — A Watsonville man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison after being found guilty of several crimes related to a 2015 vehicle pursuit, Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo announced Friday. Jamie Ayala, 30, was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison for felony evading, two counts of failure to appear while on bail and resisting arrest, prosecutors said.
On Nov. 22, 2015, Ayala led Monterey County Sheriff's Office deputies on a high-speed pursuit through Marina and Seaside, prosecutors said. During the pursuit, Ayala struck several parked cars in a
residential neighborhood in Seaside before crashing his car. He then tried to flee deputies on foot, and deputies had to use a Taser to take him into custody.
