Watsonville Shooting: Investigators Identify Wanted Man

David Setterberg, 38, is believed to be armed and dangerous.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's office released a photo of a man suspected of pulling the trigger in an Aug. 16 shooting in Watsonville.

The suspect was identified as 38-year-old David Setterberg, of Watsonville. An arrest warrant was issued for Setterberg, who is considered armed and dangerous, according to a news release shared Wednesday by the sheriff's office.

The release of the photo comes more than a week after deputies responded to a 6:15 p.m. report of a shooting near the 2400 block of East Lake Avenue on Aug. 16.

An initial investigation indicated that following an argument between the suspect and the victim, Setterberg fired multiple shots from a handgun into the passenger cab of the victim's vehicle, narrowly missing the victim.

Deputies said Setterberg fled the area in a white Nissan Altima that has since been located by investigators.
