Woman, 92, Injured During Home Invasion Robbery In Watsonville
Officials said five suspects entered the woman's home and one was armed with a handgun.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 92-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and lost possessions in a home invasion robbery in the Watsonville area on Wednesday evening, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. Around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 200 block of Hames Road after she called 911 to report the suspects had forced her to the ground, stolen several items and fled the residence, deputies said.
Three suspects knocked on the door, but a total of five suspects entered the woman's home and one was armed with a handgun, the victim told deputies. The sheriff's office has a description of three of the suspects;
they were described as Hispanic men aged 18 to 20 years old wearing hooded clothing.
Deputies said they located a witness who saw a suspicious white sedan driving through the area around the time of the robbery. On Thursday, the sheriff's community contact team responded to the neighborhood to tell residents about the incident and provide them with tips on crime prevention, deputies said.

The sheriff's office stressed that elderly residents should be cautious when answering the door to their homes to anyone they do not know or are not expecting. Anyone with information on the incident should call the sheriff's office dispatch line at (831) 471-1121.
