WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Celeb Howie Mandel apparently decided if he were a sandwich, he'd be on French bread with tuna, pepperjack cheese, "Godfather Sauce" and "Dirty Sauce."

Yes, that was the TV actor-comedian's choice as he got to design his own namesake sammie at the newly opened Ike’s Love & Sandwiches in Woodland Hills — where patrons now can order the "Howie Eat It."

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, renown for its creative and uniquely named subs, opened last week on Mulholland Drive.

The fast-growing chain launched in 2007 in San Francisco by Ike Shehadeh, a self-proclaimed "rebel with a dream." As part of each location's opening, "Ike" creates exclusive sandwiches, particular to the community.

From recently opened shops in the San Francisco Bay Area, the "Steph Curry" with turkey, Ike's yellow BBQ sauce and provolone, and the "Marshawn Lynch" with fried chicken, bacon, spicy "Beastmode" BBQ sauce and cheddar, landed on menus, management said.

And in Woodland Hills ... it's the "Howie Eat It."

Founder "Ike" met up with Mandel at the Woodland Hills shop — and after taste tests — the pair crafted the one-of-a-kind sandwich.

The chain's menu caters to meat lovers, vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free diets. Sandwiches can be customized, and toppings include "Ike’s Dirty Sauce," a garlic aioli blend and the "Godfather Sauce," a creamy garlic dijon horseradish spread. Catering services also are available.

The Woodland Hills site, at 23355 Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
