Colo. Woman Alleges Kavanaugh Sex Misconduct At Yale

BOULDER, CO – A second woman, from Colorado, has come forward with claims of sexual misconduct against Supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Deborah Ramirez, 53, of Boulder, attended Yale with Kavanaugh, and alleges that he exposed himself to her during a dorm drinking game their freshman year, according to a report in the New Yorker.

“I remember a penis being in front of my face,” Ramirez told the magazine. She admitted she had been drinking and her memories were unclear. “I knew that's not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.

"Somebody yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face,’” she said, remembering she was mortified.

Kavanaugh quickly denied the 35-year-old claim, calling it "a smear, plain and simple." He said he looked forward to defending his good name, built over a career, against "last-minute allegations."

“This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man," said White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec in the article. "This claim is denied by all who were said to be present and is wholly inconsistent with what many women and men who knew Judge Kavanaugh at the time in college say. The White House stands firmly behind Judge Kavanaugh.”

The New Yorker said the allegations were brought to several Democratic Senators and also Republicans last week.

Ramirez identified her lawyer to NBC news Sunday night as Stan Garnett, former Democratic Boulder County District Attorney. The Colorado Sun reported that Ramirez worked with Colorado's Democratic Senator Mike Bennet who helped her get in touch with Garnett. Bennet's office said they were contacted by the Senate Judiciary Committee staff to ask for " a connection to someone who might be helpful," the Sun reported.

Kavanaugh faces the Senate Judiciary Committee this week. Palo Alto University professor Christine Blasey Ford has agreed to testify about her allegations of sexual misconduct in high school against Kavanaugh on Thursday before the committee.
