Fall Fest Hits Pearl Street This Weekend
With arts and crafts, live music, a beer garden, and children's activities, Downtown Boulder promises "an ideal family adventure."

Festival tents are about to spring up across the full length of Pearl Street. Fall Fest kicks off tonight at 5 p.m. and lasts through Sunday afternoon. If you swing downtown this weekend you will get a chance to shop, dance, sip a frosty margarita, and entertain your family with special children's activities - a free weekend of entertainment, all within five blocks.
The Firefly Handmade market, ranked on several lists as one of the top craft fairs in the nation according to the Downtown Boulder website, will take over the 1400 block of Pearl. Firefly is in its ninth year of producing local pop-up shops, and for Fall Fest it promises to feature 120 artists selling home goods, fine craft, art, ceramics, skin care, children's and adult fashion, leather goods, jewelry, pet goods, and artisanal food and beverages.
A full music line-up will hit a stage set up in front of the Boulder Courthouse. Featured local bands include Grant Farm, Chain Station, and Last Men on Earth. Directly across from the stage, a beer garden will serve beer from Boulder's Avery Brewing, margaritas from the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant and a wide array of local snacks for purchase.

Any good Boulder child should take right to the climbing wall - if not, there will also be a bounce house, obstacle course, giant slide, and fairy face painting to keep the kiddos happy. The festival is free, but kids' activities cost $1 per ticket, or 22 for $20.
Fall Fest will open with a preview tonight from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continue with a full festival Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
