Man Arrested On 12 Counts Of Attempted Murder In Colorado

AURORA, CO – A 38-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday after being arrested on twelve counts of attempted murder as well as other offenses, Aurora Police said in a news release.

The man, identified as Eugene Demetrius Robertson, entered a 7-11 store at 599 South Airport Boulevard late Monday night and fired at least one round with a handgun, authorities said. After leaving the store, Robertson confronted another customer in the parking lot and fired more rounds, according to police.

No one was injured, and the man fled the scene in a car, police said.

Shortly after midnight Tuesday, a 911 caller from the 18000 block of East Kentucky Avenue reported to police that a man had shot through the front door of the apartment, according to the release. After officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the suspect drove the same car as and matched the physical description of the suspect who had fled the 7-11 shortly before.

Officers searched the area before locating Robertson, who was taken into custody and arrested on twelve counts of attempted murder, two counts of menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, according to police.
