AURORA, CO — A woman was found dead on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the head in Aurora early Monday morning, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Officers said they received a call at 6:11 a.m. and found the woman near the intersection of East Smith Road and North Sable Boulevard.

She has not yet been publicly identified, and her cause of death has yet to be determined, police said.

The intersection was closed for several hours Monday morning while investigators collected evidence, according to the department. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Knight at 303-739-6982 or Detective Graw at 303-739-6213. Tips can also be made by contacting Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 and may remain anonymous, according to the Aurora Police Department.
