Arapahoe Ridge High School Lockdown Lifted: BVSD
A weapon was reported at Arapahoe Ridge High School, according to reports, causing a lockdown.

BOULDER, CO — Arapahoe Ridge High School in Boulder was put under lockdown after there was a reported weapon in the school and authorities entered the building, according to reports on Wednesday afternoon. As of 3:10 p.m., Boulder Valley School district reported that the lockdown had been lifted, operations were returning to normal, and the students were being dismissed.
The lockdown was prompted by a reported threat of a weapon that came through the district's Safe2Tell program. The lockdown included all schools and programs on the campus, including the high school, Boulder Universal, Boulder Valley School District Online, and the Boulder Technical Education Center.
Police closed 65th Street at Arapahoe Avenue during the incident, according to a Twitter post from Daily Camera photographer Matthew Jonas, who added there are at least 20 police vehicles on scene, including several armored cars.

Arapahoe Ridge is an alternative high school with an enrollment of 120 students. It shares a campus at 6600 Arapahoe Ave. with two other educational programs that have a combined enrollment of approximately 450 students.
