First Transportation Master Plan Kick-Off Events This Week
Residents encouraged to give input on 25-year plan.

BOULDER, CO - Boulder County is updating the Transportation Master Plan, and it is asking for the community's help. The Transportation Master Plan sets the course for the next 25 years of transportation policy in Boulder County, covering topics such as alternative transit, roads, and accessibility. County residents can make their voices heard at meetings in Longmont and Louisville this week and in the City of Boulder next week, or through an online survey on the county website.
The original version of the master plan was launched in 2012, and the county is looking to update it in order to reflect the impact of rising costs, a growing population, and new technologies. "Rapid change means that not everyone has access to all transportation options," explains program information on the website. "On top of these changes, costs to maintain the system are going up while funding is going down."
Boulder County's Transportation Master Plan identifies the five core vision strategies that support the vision of the Boulder County Comprehensive Plan: to develop a multi-modal transportation system, create complete trips, invest in key transportation corridors, increase accessibility, and enhance mountain area connections. Residents will be able to offer opinions on topics such as low-stress bicycling infrastructure, family and school transportation needs, affordable living, technology, and safety improvements.
