Here are the top three stories today in Boulder:
- Firefighters found homemade explosive components in a Boulder County basement on Sunday night. Residents of the home reported there was an explosion in the basement before first responders arrived; they were all able to get out safely, though two pets were still inside the home when firefighters arrived. According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the residents have been cooperating with first responders. (CBS Denver)
- The road to the NCAR Mesa Lab in Boulder will be closed to the public on Monday, Jul. 4 from 4 p.m. According to a release, the closure was enacted to reduce wildfire risk during the Independence Day holiday. The road, parking lot, and trail access are all scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, Jul. 5. (Boulder Daily Camera)
