Man Dies In Paraglider Crash Near Erie

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

BOULDER, CO — A paraglider died in a crash Saturday in unincorporated Boulder County.

The Boulder County Communication Center received multiple 911 calls around 6 p.m. after the man crashed in a field north of Arapahoe Road and North 119th Street near Erie, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said. The man had been operating a powered paraglider.

First responders tried to resuscitate the man, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

Based on witnesses who observed the crash, it did not appear the powered paraglider had any equipment malfunctions, detectives said.
