More Meth-Contaminated Apartments Discovered In Longmont

A second round of apartments and a multi-unit air intake system are contaminated.

LONGMONT, CO - Cloverbasin Village Apartments have taken another hit. Just five months after units in two buildings tested positive for methamphetamine contamination, another - Unit 108 in Building 15 - has joined the list.

The air intake system for vertically-stacked units 108, 208, and 308 tested positive as well, according to Chana Gouessetis, communication manager for Boulder County Public Health, reported the Longmont Times-Call.

In Colorado, the threshold for contamination is a test result of more than 0.5 micrograms of meth residue per 100 square-centimeters. Two years ago, nine units in Cloverbasin's Building 5 also tested positive. In May, after this year's first round of positive readings, tenants told the Times-Call that they were certain that if more units were tested, more contamination would be found.
