Here are the top stories in Boulder today:
- A motorcyclist is dead after reportedly striking an SUV on Friday. The motorcyclist was speeding through an intersection on U.S. 287 at about 7:30 p.m. when he struck the right rear end of an SUV trying to turn left in the intersection. The driver of the SUV was not injured. According to police, drugs and alcohol are not suspected. (Colorado Hometown Weekly)
- Two rabid skunks have been found in Boulder County. According to health officials, one of the skunks bit a dog in an unincorporated portion of the county. The other was found near Aurora Avenue and Grant Place by a dog. Luckily for both pups, their vaccinations were up to date and they only needed a rabies booster after the event. Public health officials recommend that you take serious precautions with unfamiliar animals. Read the full list of precautions at the link. (Boulder Patch)
- 28th Street was closed for a time due to a semi-truck on fire near 28th Street and Iris Avenue. According to police, the fire began around 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
