Postal Worker Killed In Longmont, Ex-Girfriend Arrested
The postal worker's ex-girfriend has been arrested in connection with his death, police said.

LONGMONT, CO — A postal employee was shot and killed Wednesday in Longmont, and his ex-girlfriend has been arrested in connection with his death, police said.
The U.S. Postal Service worker was delivering mail to mailboxes around 12:30 p.m. near Heatherhill Street and Renaissance Drive when he was shot multiple times by a masked suspect, police said. The worker died at the scene.
Law enforcement officers went door-to-door during the search for the suspect, police said. A K-9 team was deployed during the search, but was unsuccessful.

The shooter was seen running south on Renaissance Drive wearing a hoodie, dark clothing and a blue mask, police said.
Five schools in the area were under a shelter-in-place order, but they were reopened several hours later.

"It's tragic, it's terrible, and it hurts all of us very deeply," said David Rupert, a spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service.
The identity of the worker has not been released.
His ex-girlfriend, Devan Schreiner, faces first-degree murder charges.
Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty asked residents in the area to offer as much possible information to investigators.
"I'm hopeful we'll have more answers and make progress in the next day or two," he said.
