Superior House Fire Declared Arson: Police
Officials are investigating the circumstances around the blaze, another of several suspicious fires in the area in recent weeks.

SUPERIOR, CO - An early-morning fire in a Superior home today has been determined to be the result of arson. An initial investigation suggests that someone entered through an unsecured door of the home located in the 3100 block of Castle Peak Avenue to start the fire, according to a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. No motive for the fire has been determined, and the Sheriff's Office is seeking any help from the community with information that may be helpful to the continued investigation.
Residents in the home were woken by a smoke alarm, and called 911 shortly before 1 a.m. this morning. One resident was able to remove an object that had been set on fire before law enforcement and fire department personnel arrived on the scene. There were no injuries reported, and the majority of the damage was confined to the carpet where the object had been placed.
Several other suspicious fires have been lit in the Rock Creek Subdivision in the past few months, including one on the same street. The previous fire was lit outside, and officials are working to determine if there is a link between the incidents.
