Two Hikers Lost East Of Lyons
The man and woman were successfully located by emergency personnel.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO - Two lost hikers were located by local search and rescue crews Wednesday evening in the Button Rock Preserve west of Lyons. Representatives from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and the Big Elk Meadows Fire Department assisted in an effort that ultimately discovered the pair at 8:15 p.m. after a multi-hour search using the GPS coordinates from their cell phone. The rescuers assisted the man and woman back to Pinewood Springs, arriving by 10 p.m.
The pair of hikers called the Boulder County Communications Center shortly before 5:30 p.m. to report that they had gotten lost while hiking on the Button Rock Trail. Button Rock Preserve is located in a river valley bordered by Boulder County Open Space, U.S. Forest Service lands, and private property, and is frequented by hikers, anglers, and birdwatchers.
There were no injuries.
