VIDEO: 5-Foot Cougar Makes Way Into Boulder Backyard
A Boulder man captured footage of a mountain lion in his backyard after installing a camera to find what was eating his wife's flowers.

BOULDER, CO — A Boulder man got a surprise Monday after making an attempt to see what was eating his wife's flowers in the backyard. Richard Gordon use a critter cam to investigate and ended up catching a mountain lion on camera.
The mountain lion is seen taking some water, looking around casually, and strolling by the camera.
"It's a good idea to keep a sharp eye outdoors on your little ones when outside at dusk and dawn," Gordon sad in the description of the YouTube video of the cougar.

Gordon estimated the big cat to stand about two-and-a-half feet tall at the shoulder and well over five feet from nose to tail. He later placed a tape measure on the stone patio where the cougar was and superimposed the videos to gather these estimates.

"Fully extended I estimate it would be over six feet long," he said, adding it likely has more to grow.
Gordon ended his posting with a bit of sound advice. "Enjoy this magnificent creature and stay out of its way.
