A Mass and funeral will take place Saturday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
FREDERICK, CO – The funerals for the pregnant woman and her two daughters whose bodies were found on oil and gas property in Weld County earlier this month will be Saturday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
The lives of Shanann Watts, 34, her daughters, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, as well as Shanann’s unborn son "Nico" will be celebrated at a Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst.
Christopher Lee Watts, 33, of Frederick is charged with nine felony counts, including first-degree murder, in the deaths of his wife and two daughters. The deaths and charges have shaken up the small town north of Denver. Chris and Shanann Watts lived in Broomfield for one year before buying a house in Frederick in 2013. If found guilty, Christopher Watts may face the death penalty, which has not been used to execute a prisoner in Colorado since 1997.
