The man evidently then attempted to steal several other cars, finally dumping the Dodge Stratus in a cul-del-sac of 11th Court and Kohl Street. He reportedly stole another Dodge Stratus, this time a white one, from a nearby home.

Officers found an ammunition container left on the ground near the blue Stratus. The Adams County Bomb Squad was called in to evaluate it. Police told people in five houses in the 900 block of 11th Court to shelter in place. Some were allowed to leave their homes for work with police escort.
