2 Injured By Gunshots At Citadel Mall: Colorado Springs Police

The mall will now remain closed after being evacuated after two people were shot by an unknown shooter, police said.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Two men were shot near a mall in Colorado Springs, the CSPD confirmed.

No arrests have been made in the shootings, which happened around 2 p.m. near the outside entrance of Hooters at the Citadel Mall, Colorado Springs Police said.

The busy mall was filled with shoppers. Mall management decided to remain closed for the day, reopening tomorrow, Colorado Springs Police Spokesman Lt. Howard Black said. Police were allowing shoppers to leave with their cars.

Police said the shooting happened after an altercation involving two men outside the mall and others inside a red car. "Multiple shots" were fired at the men from the car, which sped away.

Black said two adult male victims were in "serious but stable" condition. One victim was found near the entrance to Hooters, while the second was found in the mall's food court.
