Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. Leaders including law enforcement, lawmakers, and medical professionals from across Southern Colorado gathered in Colorado Springs yesterday for a roundtable discussion on the dangers of fentanyl. Police said fentanyl is even being put into candy-like forms to look like gummy bears, Skittles, and Smarties, which they say shows the "increased sophistication" of drug manufacturers. "There is so much danger out there for young people or anyone for that matter, to take drugs that they think is one thing, and it's actually laced with fentanyl," said Rep. Lamborn. (KRDO)
  2. Local police have announced that they have located Bobby Suddith, a local teenager who had gone missing on Wednesday morning. The 16-year-old was reportedly last seen near Union Boulevard and Lelaray Street, on the east side of Patty Jewett Golf Course. "He is at risk and was attending school in Colorado Springs, but resides in Pueblo and is not familiar with this area," police said in the initial announcement. Although no details surrounding Suddith's disappearance were released, police said he is now "safe." (KKTV)
  3. Colorado Springs Charter Academy is being accused of mishandling funds and violating school policies. The school is currently in conflict with the Colorado Charter School Institute (CSI). “CSI is in regular communication with the school and we continue to offer support as they work to address the outlined concerns,” said Terry Lewis, executive director of CSI. “Additionally, CSI's investigation is ongoing until we receive the required remedies and have an opportunity to thoroughly review them.” (KRDO)
