Here are the top 3 stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. May is the perfect month to get outside and read a book! Luckily, there are many literary events happening in the area throughout the month that are great for you or your family. This includes the popular Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum Lecture Series with an upcoming lecture on May 14. Please note that tickets are required. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
  2. University of Colorado - Colorado Springs students headed up to Pikes Peak National Cemetery this weekend to help clean up the headstones. This is a semiannual occurrence and is done in preparation for Memorial Day weekend. The volunteers clean 3,000-plus headstones with soapy water (no hard chemicals). (FOX21News.com)
  3. One of the best parts about spring is the plants! If you love plants, you should plan on stopping by the Horticultural Art Society's Cottage for their annual Gigantic Plant Sale. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 13 and May 20, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 14 and 21. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
