Nearly 50 Heat-Related Illnesses Reported At CO Air Show: Officials
About 50 people were treated for heat-related illnesses at the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow in CO on Saturday, fire officials said.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Nearly 50 people experienced heat-related illnesses at the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow Saturday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post.
Three people were brought to local hospitals, while others were brought indoors to cool down, the agency wrote.
The show, headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, was expected to draw about 30,000 people Saturday and Sunday.

“The large number of people needing assistance has required additional resources to ensure everyone receives the necessary care,” the agency wrote.
