For new AdAmAn member, New Year's Eve tradition on Pikes Peak runs deep (gazette.com) — Colorado Springs’ century-old AdAmAn Club is welcoming fifth-generation local Mac Sommers as its newest member for this year’s New Year’s Eve fireworks atop Pikes Peak. His family’s ties to the club and city stretch back to 1887, and the published itinerary details when residents can watch mirror flashes and fireworks from town on December 30–31. 
2. Veterans legal services at Mt. Carmel expanding in the New Year (krdo.com) — Veterans in Colorado Springs will soon have weekly access to free or low-cost legal help at Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, starting in 2026. Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project is expanding from monthly to weekly visits, offering support with VA disability appeals, discharge upgrades, family law, housing, employment disputes, and more for local veterans and their families.
3. Colorado Springs seeing some of the lowest gas prices in the nation (fox21news.com) — Drivers in Colorado Springs are paying some of the lowest gas prices in the country right now, with several stations dipping below $2 a gallon. An Exxon on Garden of the Gods Road is among the cheapest, though locals say prices can still vary by as much as a dollar across different parts of town.
4. Broncos strong season boosts business across Colorado Springs (kktv.com) — Broncos fans packing into Colorado Springs bars and shops are turning the team’s 13–3 season into a real boost for local business. From game-day surges at Trainwreck Bar to fast-selling memorabilia at The Shoppe Sports Cards and Collectibles, owners say the winning streak is driving bigger crowds, higher sales, and a contagious energy across the city.
5. Colorado Springs, Denver among least taxed U.S. cities (ncwlife.com) — Colorado Springs homeowners are paying some of the lowest property tax burdens in the nation, with taxes averaging about 1.5% of income, or roughly $1,966 a year. A new SmartAsset study ranks the city 331st out of 343 for tax burden, making it the least expensive in Colorado, while Denver and other Front Range cities also fare relatively well compared with high-tax areas back East.
