Remains Of Colo. Springs Man Identified In Kentucky
Timothy J. Stites, 29, was reported missing in 2016. He traveled for work in construction and had last spoken to family from Louisville.

SHELBYVILLE, KY— Remains found last year in a wooded area in Shelby County, Kentucky were identified as those of a missing Colorado Springs man.
Shelby County Sheriff's Detective Mark Moore announced on Thursday that that remains were identified as Timothy J. Stites, 29. Stites's family reported him missing in 2016. DNA helped confirm his identity.
“The DNA was filed in July and we had a positive hit August the 9th, the remains coming back as one Timothy J. Stites,” Jeff Ives, Chief Deputy Coroner for Shelby County, told WAVE in Kentucky.

The body was found in February, 2017 when a man reported that his dog brought home a human skull.
WAVE reported that Stites' sister had reported him missing in August of 2016 when she hadn’t heard from her brother in a month. The last she had heard he was in Louisville, Kentucky.

Officials told the station Stites traveled for his construction work building storage units and pole barns, but they do not know why he was in the area. He lived in colorado Springs, but had family in Atlanta, Georgia, the TV station reported.
“We don’t have any idea of what happened to Mr. Stites and why he was in Shelby County,” Moore told the station.
