Here are the top three stories in Colorado Springs today:

  1. The City of Colorado Springs is considering new regulations for trash collection companies. The new regulations are reportedly meant to hold the companies accountable when they fail to communicate effectively with residents. There have been reports of trash collection companies not responding to calls and emails regarding skipped trash pick up. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
  2. A study's results show a racial disparity in Colorado Springs' park space. The Trust for Public Land's study reports that the city ranks 56 out of a score of 100 in equity.   3. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has been ranked as the continent's third-best zoo behind Cincinnati’s Zoo and Botanical Garden and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo. The zoo's spokeswoman claims that it is able to compete against zoos in larger markets due to its unforgettable experiences offered to guests.
