- A wildfire broke out in Colorado Springs yesterday, prompting The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) to issue an evacuation order for the residents of Skylark Mobile Home Park at 3831 Cascade Avenue. As of Thursday afternoon, there was no known cause for the fire, and eight mobile homes were considered "at a total loss" according to the CSFD. (FOX21News.com)
- A second fire occurred near Bradley Road and South Marksheffel Boulevard in El Paso County yesterday. A home caught on fire in the morning and firefighters remained on the scene until it was put out. The home was a loss, and two people are displaced because of it. Unfortunately, two pets were killed in the fire. (KKTV)
- Late Wednesday night, the state legislature passed a bill aimed at helping to decrease the prevalence of fentanyl and to offer new punishments for those caught with it. But Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers has called for Governor Jared Polis to veto the bill because he does not think that the bill adequately deters people from using fentanyl. (KRDO)
