Here are the top stories today in Denver:

1. Eleven African lions tested positive for the coronavirus at the Denver Zoo, officials announced Monday. The lions were seen coughing, sneezing and showing other symptoms. All the animals are expected to recover, the zoo said. (Denver Patch)
2. Among the 50 largest metro areas in the U.S., Denver was ranked No. 1 in a 2021 STEM Job Growth Index, which predicts the top cities for tech job growth. Our city was ranked No. 3 in 2020, but we've taken the top spot this year due to our economy, workforce quality and quality of life, according to the report. (Mile High CRE)
3. Denverites interested in fashion can learn from their state's industry leaders at Denver Fashion Week, which will offer workshops and shows next month from Nov. 16-18 and 20-21. Here's a look at the event lineup. (Denver Patch)
4. Denver's Big Wave Taco and TAG Burger Bar are set to close at the end of October. Like other restaurants, they ran into financial and staffing issues, but there were other factors too. (Westword)
5. As Halloween approaches, Denver Animal Protection is recommending pet owners take a slew of precautions to keep their dogs and cats safe. Pet owners should hide chocolate, keep their animals away from trick-or-treaters and be aware of the dangers of pet costumes, officials say. (Denver Patch)
