Denver rejects airline contract for its association with Trump's immigration agenda (wcbm.com) — Denver City Council has rejected a contract letting Key Lime Air rent space at Denver International Airport, citing concerns over the airline’s alleged role in federal deportation flights. The move reflects local resistance to Trump-era immigration enforcement and could affect both airport operations and the city’s financial relationship with federal aviation grants.
   

2. CAP's Fall 2025 Outstanding Graduates (ucdenver.edu) — CU Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning just honored four standout students from its fall 2025 graduating class, following last weekend’s commencement at the Colorado Convention Center. The grads share how CU Denver shaped their paths, from designing for Denver schools and neighborhoods to researching RTD bus ridership recovery and planning projects tied to the new Broncos stadium.
   

3. Attorney Suffers Spinal Fractures After Shocking Assault During Colorado Court Hearing (retro1025.com) — A courtroom hearing tied to a fatal crash in Aurora, a Denver suburb, turned violent when the victim’s uncle allegedly slammed the defense attorney to the floor, leaving him with spinal fractures and a shattered pelvis. The uncle is now jailed on assault charges while the 19-year-old driver remains accused in the scooter death of a 12-year-old boy.
   

4. The Largest Wildlife Crossing in North America Just Opened to Critters in Colorado (outdoorlife.com) — A massive new wildlife overpass has opened on I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs, aiming to sharply cut crashes in this heavily traveled corridor. Colorado officials say the Greenland crossing, now the largest in North America, should reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions by about 90 percent once deer, elk, and other animals begin using it as winter pushes them down from the high country.
   

5. Colorado cold case leads investigators to seek DNA from Cedar Rapids residents (kcrg.com) — Human remains discovered near Deer Creek Campground outside Denver in May 2024 remain unidentified, and investigators are now turning to DNA from Czech and Slovak descendants in Cedar Rapids for help. Colorado officials say genetic genealogy has linked distant relatives to Cedar Rapids, Omaha, and Pueblo, and they’re using facial reconstruction and new tips to finally put a name to the Denver-area decedent.
