After Multi-State Crime Spree, Men Arrested In Oregon
Two men were arrested in Oregon after a series of shootings, bank robberies and carjackings in that left a Denver man dead.

DENVER, CO – Denver police said Monday that a New Mexico man was in custody in Oregon in connection with a fatal Sloan Lake carjacking that killed David Rosenthal, 58. The carjacking was part of a multi-state crime spree in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Oregon.
Rosenthal was found shot dead around 1:50 a.m. Friday morning in the 1500 block of North Perry Street and his 2015 Cadillac STS 4-door sedan was stolen, allegedly by three people, police said Friday. He was identified Monday by the Office of the Denver Medical Examiner.
Matthew Fanelli, 30, of New Mexico, and Jose Lopez-Jovel, 31, of El Salvador were arrested Saturday in Roseburg, Oregon after two Oregon attempted carjackings that led to high speed pursuits and gunshots exchanged on highway, local news stations reported. Multiple people were injured after Fanelli and Lopez-Jovel allegedly tried to steal a car from a Roseburg Red Robin restaurant parking lot, then shot at police, then tried to steal another car, and allegedly shot a man and assaulted his wife, but were unable to get the vehicle, according to reports. A 19-year-old woman with the pair, also sought by Denver police, was identified by Oregon authorities as Cynthia Sena, according to KVAL, Eugene.

Colorado Springs

The spree began just after midnight on Feb. 22 in Colorado Springs, where police were called to the Deja Vu Showgirls lounge after Fanelli allegedly was asked to leave the club andfired several shots at staff. Another man, later identified as Lopez-Joval also fled the club, as well as Sena who "ran out naked" according to a statement by the El Paso Sheriff's office.
Denver
The trio reportedly drove to Denver, where around 1:40 a.m. they carjacked the driver of the Cadillac and killed him.
Cheyenne
Around 4 a.m. after leaving Denver, the three were involved in a convenience store robbery in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The three allegedly entered the store and one man fired two shots from a handgun while the group stole money and other items.
Utah
At 10 a.m., the two men allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Park City, Utah. One man displayed a gun and demanded money. The two escaped in a black 2015 Cadillac with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Oregon
On Saturday evening, Fanelli and Lopez-Joval were taken into custody in Oregon.
Police are working with Oregon authorities to return Fanelli to Denver to face charges of first-degree murder, they said.
