Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- More than $500,000 is being spent on swaying voters' opinions on Referred Question 2E, which asks Denverites whether the city needs a new 10,000-seat arena. As you may guess, the big bucks are coming from the "YES" side. (Denverite)
- A Colorado cyclist has an important message for drivers after a hit-and-run crash changed his life and left him with a permanent disability. Andrew Bernstein said he hopes that drivers who hear about his case "will remember their duty to be responsible on the road, and to look out for others on the road." (Boulder Patch)
- Heading to a local pharmacy for a prescription? You could face lines and delays as pharmacies across Denver deal with staffing shortages. (The Denver Channel)
- Ready or not, it's nearly time to fall back. After months of long days and abundant sunshine, daylight saving time — or daylight savings time, as it's often called — will come to an end Sunday, Nov. 7, a full week later than it ended last year. (Denver Patch)
- Do you want to add to your family and make a positive impact on the Denver community at the same time? Adopt a dog, cat or other animal from a local shelter! Shelters in Denver and environs have dogs, cats and other animals ready and waiting to be adopted. (Denver Patch)

About me: I'm a Patch editor covering news in Denver's metro area and Boulder. I've spent the past nine years working for various news outlets across North America, including Chicago Patch, Global News and WBEZ. I've covered high-profile court cases, civil rights abuses, mass shootings, natural disasters and major crimes — but also countless happy news stories about kindness, innovation and resilience. When I'm not writing articles, I can be found hiking, snowboarding, debating politics with my husband and attempting to be a sci-fi and astronomy geek.
