Colo. Teachers Love Their Schools, Anonymous State Survey Shows
The Colorado Dept. of Education released the results of a statewide survey showing teachers approve of their schools.

DENVER, CO -- In spite of the teacher walkouts Thursday and Friday, 89 percent of Colorado teachers said in a new statewide survey they believe their school is "a good place to work and a beneficial place for students to learn."
The Colorado Department of Education released the results Friday of the anonymous Teaching and Learning Conditions in Colorado survey of more than 35,000 Colorado teachers. More than half the 68,000 certified teachers in the state took the survey.
Most of teachers responding to the survey said they felt "satisfied with instructional practices and support, as well as community support and involvement," the study showed.

"Overall, however, state-level data show 57.8 percent of teachers believe they don’t have adequate time to prepare for instruction. The other lowest-rated categories on the TLCC survey were opportunities for professional development and new teacher training," a press release from CDE said.
“We appreciate everyone who took the time to complete the survey, which gives us valuable information that we can dig into to help us better support teachers and improve education for all students,” said Katy Anthes, Colorado’s education commissioner, in a statement.
Teachers formerly took a test called the TELL Colorado survey. The new survey was designed after the General Assembly passed HB08-1384, to survey teachers on their attitudes toward their jobs.
