4. ‘Light in darkness': Denver Jewish community shares message of Hanukkah following Australia mass shooting (denvergazette.com) — Denver’s Jewish community gathered in Cherry Creek for a Hanukkah menorah lighting that doubled as a call for safety and solidarity after a deadly attack on a similar event in Australia. Families shared food, games, and messages about adding “more light” and standing proudly together despite rising fears.

Take a bow: Local playwright scores a double-daring feat (denvergazette.com) — Denver’s theater scene is celebrating local playwright Luke Sorge, who pulled off the rare feat of premiering two plays on different metro stages at once. The True West Awards feature also spotlights new Colorado-written works and small companies nurturing fresh voices, from Aurora’s People’s Building to Denver Center Theatre Company and beyond.
